Wake up each morning to peace and quiet, nothing but birdsong and breath taking views that roll on for miles across an unspoilt landscape. While away the hours relaxing in the private hot tub, soaking up the fresh country air. If it’s cold out snuggle on the sofa by the fire.

Silver Birch has sumptuous interiors with soft furnishings by Zoe Glencross, all hand picked especially for this cosy country retreat. There’s a small kitchen area, an ensuite shower and a lounge area that converts quickly and easily to a super comfortable double bed. The private outdoor area has a hot tub, firepit/grill and vintage style bistro furniture; This is holiday heaven in Devon, where dream days await you, times you’ll always remember.

If you want to spend the whole of your stay unwinding at Silver Birch, who could blame you? If on the other hand, you fancy exploring the local area a little, you’ll find so much to see and do within just a few miles. Wander down to Culmstock, a sleepy village where you can stop off at The Strand Stores for coffee outside in the sunshine; climb up to Culm Beacon for incredible views and when you come back down, head to the Culm Valley Inn for a pint of the local brew.

For something different go over to Dunkeswell Airfield; sit in the Aviator Coffee Bar and Restaurant and watch the light aircraft come and go. Those with a taste for adventure might want to book up in advance for an exhilarating experience like sky diving or wing walking. Nearby is Mansell Raceway where you can out the pedal to the metal on the 750m long karting circuit.

Go down to the Grand Western Canal at Tiverton where you can hire rowing boats or Canadian canoes and take to the waters. Drift along the canal on a horse drawn barge and when you get back treat yourselves to a big fat cream tea at The Canal Tea Rooms and Garden or on the floating Duck’s Ditty Café Bar. It’s days like these that make you feel life is but a dream, relaxing comes easy.

If you like historic houses and glorious gardens, Killerton and Knightshayes aren’t far, or just go and potter round the town in Cullompton with its local shops and remarkable old buildings. One thing’s for sure; when you’re tucked up in bed at Silver Birch with the stars coruscating above you through the stargazer window in the roof, you’ll have an overwhelming sense of bliss. If it could be bottled you’d make a fortune.
