Looking back on another lockdown we can’t help thinking how sad it is that our holiday houses in Devon with swimming pools have been empty all this month. But all for good reason, and anyhow, it’s not good to look back, we should be looking forward instead – to better days, to happy large group reunions, family holidays, hen weekends, celebrations, and corporate get togethers in Devon.

No doubt there’ll be a lot of large group reunions sometime soon so we’ll be busy bees then as our holiday houses in Devon with swimming pools are perfect for that sort of thing. We’re already getting lots of enquiries and we have hardly any availability over the next few months, but think long term, think next summer and beyond – surely things will be back to normal by then? Again, you’ll need to act swiftly because a lot of people have moved bookings that couldn’t be fulfilled this year due to restrictions and lockdowns, so we’ve got a very busy 2021 ahead of us and even several bookings into 2022.

We love that though, we love that people are looking ahead to happier times, being positive. It doesn’t get much happier than getting together with a group of your favourite folk and coming on down to one of our holiday houses in Devon with swimming pools for a whole week or just a weekend of fun and frolics, love and laughter. Imagine it! Imagine seeing everyone at last! You’ll have so much to talk about – yeah, yeah we all kept in touch, had those Zoom meetings and that, but it’s not the same, is it?

There’s no substitute for heading off to the country to spend time with your nearest and dearest, relaxing, unwinding, letting go. And we can promise you this – you’ll have everything you need to make sure it’s a corker because our luxury holiday houses in Devon with swimming pools have the lot. We don’t like to show off, but hey, we’ve got hot tubs, saunas, games rooms, play areas for the young ‘uns, and those lovely cosy BBQ lodges – you know, the ones with a barbie in the middle, where you can all sit round and chat and tuck into sizzling steaks, beautiful bangers, mushy marshmallows, whatever you like – anytime of year!

The thing is there are reunions and there are reunions. What we mean is, meeting up with a load of lovelies in a pub is good but having a big luxurious house to yourselves for a few days, with all those things to keep you happy, well, that’s something else. You don’t need an excuse but all the more reason to do it if you missed out on a birthday party during 2020, or an anniversary, or for some, a dreamy wedding day. Our big holiday cottages were made for celebrations and we’re proud to say we can even help with the nitty gritty, making it so, so special for you. Oh yes, we have lists, you see! Lists of caterers we can recommend to come and cook a fabulous feast for you, and florists who can make the house look pretty; we know ladies who make the most exquisite cakes, and we have a whole load of other contacts for things like mobile beauty therapists (pamper parties! Wooh!), cocktail waiters, private dance classes and cheeky life drawing (model supplied, don’t worry!).

We were thinking how great it will be when everything is open again – like the pubs and cafes, family attractions and so on. You’ll find plenty of that in these parts, that’s if you can tear yourselves away from your holiday house in Devon with a swimming pool. Our gorgeous gaffs are in the Blackdown Hills on the Somerset and Devon border, so tons of options if you fancy a day out. The M5 is in within easy reach so you could even head up to Bristol if you felt inclined. It wouldn’t take you long to get to Dartmoor or Exmoor National Parks either, so you could go off exploring the rufty tufty heaths and round it off with a proper job cream tea. We’ve got Exeter just down the road and we think it’s well worth a visit for the shops, the brilliant RAM Museum, the glorious cathedral, the medieval underground passages, or for a quiet stroll along the quay.

If the kids want to go out, take them to Crealy Theme Park & Resort, they’ll love it. Mind you, Diggerland, Wildwood Escot, Bicton Park and The Donkey Sanctuary are good too, so let them decide. If the sun is high in the sky a day on the beach might appeal; there’s usually plenty going on at Sidmouth or Exmouth in the summer season, but if you prefer a quieter scene go to Beer or Branscombe, both quiet and largely unspoilt fishing villages on the East Devon coast. We’d hazard a guess that you’ll be quite happy staying put though, just because there’s so much to keep people of all ages happy at our big holiday homes in the UK and because, well, it’s easier, isn’t it?

Take the plunge, have a look and see what we’ve got available whether it’s next spring, next summer, next Christmas, or the year after. If you’re not quick you’ll miss out and we wouldn’t want that now, would we? Whenever you decide to come it’ll be something to look forward to, something to put happy smiles back on faces, so bring it on we say! Check availability and book your stay today!
