We’ve put together some Frequently Asked Questions that might be useful when planning your stay at Sweet Chestnut :

How long can I stay at Sweet Chestnut?

The minimum stay at Sweet Chestnut is 2 nights with any day arrival.

If you have already booked or would like to book a stay at one of our large group holiday houses and would like to book Sweet Chestnut to accommodate visitors this may be possible subject to availability.

What time can I arrive at the property?

The check in time for Sweet Chestnut is 4pm. Unfortunately, it's not possible for you to arrive earlier than this as we'll be busy getting our Dreamview Shepherds Hut ready for your stay. If it looks like you might arrive in the area earlier than that, we’d suggest stopping off at a local pub for lunch (see Things To Do), or having a browse round one of the nearby towns.

How do I find the property?

You’ll find detailed directions provided in your ‘My Booking’ section on our website. We always recommend using these rather than Sat Nav as Sat Nav can sometimes take you past the turning for Wayside. Be sure to pass these instructions to all members of your group!

How do I access the property on the day of my stay?

You’ll be able to see all your check-in information about 21 days before the start date of your stay. To access this, log into the’ My Booking’ section of our website, using your booking reference number and your email address. You’ll find all the information you need there, including our contact details and instructions regarding the keys.

Can I have a food delivery to the property?

If you need to, you can arrange to have a grocery delivery to Sweet Chestnut for when you arrive or during your stay. Delivery must be made for after the arrival time of 4pm and you must be there to receive your order. Please make sure your name and contact number are on the delivery information. The following shops will deliver to this property: Asda, Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco and Dart Fresh.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at the property?

Unfortunately not as there are no EV charging points at Sweet Chestnut. Due to insurance restrictions guests will not be able to use outdoor plugs or cables from the hut to charge vehicles. We recommend researching the local area to find the nearest charging points - please see Electric Vehicle Charging At Our Holiday Houses.

We are thinking of inviting people over during our stay. Is this allowed?

Unfortunately, we have to say no, as per the Terms and Conditions that should be read when you book your stay. This is due to our insurance/health and safety policies – our Dreamview Shepherds Huts are only big enough for 2 adults and this cannot be exceeded, which is why we ask for details of each person who will be staying at Sweet Chestnut, including their names and ages. If you would like to invite people to stay, you can book our other shepherds huts (see Silver Birch and Copper Beech), subject to availability.
