Drive through the beautiful Blackdown Hills to the Foxhill Estate in Devon where you’ll find Dreamview Shepherds Huts, set against a backdrop of English woodland with views that will knock your socks off. A big wide world of open fields and hills stretches out for miles, it’s truly amazing.
We‘ve all heard of glamping but this takes it up a notch or two. This is where holidays in the country come with lashings of luxury; healthy fresh air, birds chirruping all day long, and a very special place to stay. Sweet Chestnut, like all three of our Dreamview Shepherds Huts, has been designed with comfort in mind; measuring 17ft x 7ft 6” it’s kitted out to a very high standard, hand crafted locally from oak and finished in a gorgeous slate blue tin for a very authentic look.
Inside there’s such a lovely ambience and everything you need for your holiday or short break; light drifts in through the French doors and windows, and through the stargazing panel above the bed, there’s a little kitchen with Shaker style units and solid oak worktops; it has a built-in oven and grill, an integrated fridge and a 2 ring induction hob so you can cook with no fuss. A lounge area gives you somewhere to sit comfy and has a coffee table that converts quickly for dining; there’s a snazzy shower room that even has a heated towel rail, and a double bed drops down from the wall to give you a restful nights’ sleep. The finishing touches include nickel taps, pewter peardrop ironmongery, LED uplighting in the shelf over the bed, Wheal wall lights by Tom Raffield, and soft furnishings by Susie Hetherington. For heating there’s a wood-burner on a slate hearth.
In the private garden area just outside of Sweet Chestnut there’s a hot tub, bistro style garden furniture and a firepit and grill, all screened off so it’s not overlooked. Plenty of creature comforts, boutique style; a wonderful way to unwind in the country.
Please note, on departure day the hot tub emptying may start from 9am. Check out is 10am. The grounds of the estate will be maintained during your stay.
