Have you seen Herons Bank? Aw, it’s a stunner, even if we do say so ourselves – we are so proud of this luxurious and spacious holiday house! It sleeps 14 guests in 5 bedrooms and has a games room, and a fantastic spa hall with a pool, hot tub and changing rooms, and it’s all yours for the whole of your stay. The location is lovely and private with the most incredible views over the Devon countryside and the Culm Valley. The quiet town of Cullompton is just down the road and within just a few miles you’ll find plenty to see and do, with attractions and places to eat in all directions, and the coast just over half an hour away. New to Herons Bank this spring are a Scandinavian style BBQ lodge and play equipment and a trampoline for the youngsters.
They’re great, those BBQ lodges, we’re big fans of them because they can be used anytime of year, so yes, you CAN have barbecues in the winter, even if it’s snowing! A BBQ lodge is so cosy then and it feels like you’re tucked away in an Alpine log cabin with a wonderful wintry world outside the door, whilst you’re all gathered together, nice and warm with blanket and fleeces to wrap up in, twinkly lights above you, and something delicious sizzling away on the grill. It’s a lovely atmosphere, it really is, an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company, to swap stories, tell jokes, perhaps play games, and if there’s a musician among you, get the guitar out, have a sing song.
We all like to dine alfresco in the warmer months, but you know what the English weather is like, it can let you down, but with a BBQ lodge, that’s not a problem.
