East Devon AONB

Once you’ve discovered East Devon it will all become very apparent why it was awarded AONB status; the landscape is glorious from the beautiful beaches of the Jurassic Coast to the gentle rolling valleys, the sun dappled woodlands and the wide open fields.

So much of East Devon AONB is just a stone’s throw away from our large group holiday houses and luxury shepherds huts, so go and explore. Spend the day on the beach at Sidmouth or down by the shores in the coastal villages of Beer and Branscombe, take a tram ride through the marshes at Seaton, go for a good hike along the bracing clifftops on the South West Coast Path.

Winding country lanes will take you to picturesque villages with centuries old cottages and welcoming pubs; it’s such a wonderful way to pass the time, just pootling about and seeing what you find, where you end up. Leave the car behind and venture off to explore on the East Devon Way taking in rivers, tea rooms and farm shops and venturing off the beaten track to hill camps and commons with the most gorgeous scenery.

East Devon isn’t without its attractions either; Beer Quarry Caves is fascinating, with cathedral like caverns deep beneath the ground, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens make for a very relaxing day trip, and if you have little people with you who love animals, take them to The Donkey Sanctuary or Wildwood Escot.

There is a beautiful world waiting to be discovered out there in the East Devon AONB. Have an adventure, see what you find, go and make memories.
