Clifton Village, Bristol, Somerset
Clifton Village is one of the most desirable parts of Bristol, renowned for its beautiful Georgian and Regency architecture, unique independently run shops and eateries, and its landmarks – Clifton Suspension Bridge, The Downs, Clifton Observatory and Bristol Zoo.
At one time Clifton was a spa that drew affluent visitors keen to take the waters of the spring that rose from the Avon Gorge. Nowadays Clifton Village is a tourist attraction in itself; go and have a wander round and you’ll see why. There are jewellers, galleries, boutiques, music shops, a greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers and wine merchants. You’ll also find several very good places to eat, among them The Ivy Clifton Brasserie, No 4 Clifton Village and Giggling Squid.
