A pantomime gets everyone, young and old in the Christmas spirit! There's a great selection of pantos on in Devon, including Dick Whittington at Northcott Theatre, Exeter, expect plenty of laughs, great music and amazing special effects. Jack & The Beanstalk is popping up at RHS Rosemoor for one day only on the 10th December, booking includes entry to the garden, head down early to explore the outdoor play areas and over 100 sculptures throughout the garden. Greendale Farm Shop have taken pantomimes to a whole new level this Christmas with Paulos Christmas Circus! 'Born to Sleigh' is a festive extravaganza to warm the heart and spread the Christmas magic. There will be gravity defying aerialists, breathtaking acrobatics & much more. Banish the winter blues with this fantastic event, but be quick as tickets are selling fast!
Another must is always a visit to see Father Christmas, see if you're on the good list?! This year his grotto is at Tiverton Christmas Market, he'll be visiting here on the 25th November, 2nd, 6th, 9th, 16th & 23rd December. He will also be making visits to Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter, so head down to see him in his winter workshop with the elves whilst you're grabbing some Christmas shopping. No advance sales required and 10% of proceeds go to charity. Darts Farm is another of our favourite, local places to shop. Father Christmas is visiting the first 3 weekends in December, make sure you've written your letter to give to him.
Just across the border in Somerset, there's wreath making evenings at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm. Running on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th December between 6 - 8pm with expert wreath maker, Trudy Hendy. Cotley Farm is a must visit at Christmas. This is working farm transforms into a magical Christmas world to immerse yorself in! There's real Christmas trees to pick, ranging from potted trees all the way up to 13ft! You can also order your turkey for the perfect Christmas dinner, these turkeys are reared locally in East Devon by a family run business. The festive Christmas shop is full of local produce and beautiful decorations, including festive hampers which make great presents. Finally, there are even reindeer to visit at Cotley Farm, they'll be inside the cosy shed for Christmas, this is a real family attraction. Remember to book your visit on their website so they can spread visitors throughout the day, be quick!
