We have some very exciting news to share with you! We are so delighted to introduce Dreamview Shepherds Huts, our new luxury shepherds huts in Devon, available from late July this year. These three gorgeous huts each sleep 2 adults and have a private hot tub; they can be booked individually or as extra accommodation for guests staying at one of our large group holiday houses in Devon.
Our luxury shepherds huts in Devon were hand crafted here in the Blackdown Hills and are so well considered they take glamping to an entirely different level; it’s sumptuousness in the country – think tranquility, beautiful surroundings, fresh air and bird song, with the convenience of the kind of things you’ll find in our top notch holiday houses. Dreamview Shepherds Huts are the bees knees, even if say so ourselves.
We’ve named our huts after trees that grow here on the Foxhill Estate; Silver Birch, Copper Beech and Sweet Chestnut. We like that, we like the connection with nature, it’s a big thing here. We’re lucky to have a glorious setting out in the hills, with spectacular countryside all around. With that in mind we’ve put our Dreamview Shepherds Huts at the top of a meadow so you get the best of the breath taking views – they roll on for miles and miles across a beautiful unspoilt landscape, just open fields, wooded hillsides and immense skies as far as the eye can see. It’s like a little slice of heaven in Devon.
Silver Birch, Copper Beech and Sweet Chestnut each sleep 2 adults and have a private outdoor area with a hot tub, firepit and grill, and vintage style outdoor furniture; but Dreamview Shepherds Huts aren’t just for the warmer months - with underfloor heating and a wood-burner they’re a delight to stay in year round.
The huts are very easy on the eye, made of oak, finished in a delicious slate blue that blends in with the wooded backdrop nicely. Each one measures 17ft x 7ft 6” and is incredibly well equipped, with high spec fixtures and fittings throughout. There’s a Shaker style kitchen area with solid oak worktops, a built-in oven and grill, and an integrated fridge. The lounge area has a corner sofa to curl up on, cube seating and a coffee table that quickly converts for dining; at night a drop down bed makes for the sweetest dreams and even has LED uplighters in the shelf above it.
The shower room has a porcelain wash basin, a trendy black shower, and even a heated towel rail; the floor is solid oak and all the finishing touches have been hand picked to add to the country luxury – soft furnishings are by Susie Hetherington and Zoe Glencross, wall lights are by Tom Raffield, it’s all so perfect. You can lie in bed and pick out the constellations through the stargazing panel in the roof above the bed, wake up to bird song and step out of the French doors to amazing views and wholesome country air.
Dreamview Shepherds Huts can be booked individually or as extra accommodation for groups staying in one of our large holiday houses on the Foxhill Estate – Foxhill Lodge, Wayside and The Cedars. Now that’s handy – if a group of you have booked a group stay for a family holiday or low key celebration and you want to invite guests for a couple of days they can stay in the huts – that way they get their own space but they can still join in the fun and use the facilities at the house – perfect.
