Saddles and Paddles, Exeter, Devon

Adventure awaits you at Saddles and Paddles on the historic Quayside in Exeter. Those who like watersports can hire canoes, kayaks, boats or stand-up paddle boards and take to the waters of the canal or the beautiful Exe estuary. Paddle or row your way to a waterside pub for lunch and then head back; if there's 10 or more of you book a summer Paddle Night Party where you head up to the Double Locks pub, leave the boats to be collected, and enjoy the rest of your evening.

If wheels are more your thing hire bikes instead, and cycle along mostly traffic free routes to the pretty little town of Topsham or as far as Exmouth. Stop to explore the picturesque Devon villages and quiet towns, all the while taking in the incredible scenery of the Jurassic Coastline.

Saddles and Paddles are geared up for all ages, with a range of bikes, including tagalongs for babies, so this makes a great day out for families. Plan your it well and see as much as you can, include a ferry trip across the River Exe or a visit to one of the tourist attractions en route, like A La Ronde (NT) or World of Country Life.

Hire is from an hour to a whole day, with everything you need included. The only proviso is that for watersports, you must all be able to swim.

Open 9.00am-6.00pm every day in the summer, closed Weds Nov to April
