We’ve put together some Frequently Asked Questions that might be useful when planning your stay:

Accessibility: Please see our Wayside Access Statement

Does this property require a security deposit?

Yes, we ask for a security deposit of £750 for Wayside. We’ll be in touch about 3 weeks before your stay with instructions on how to pay this. Alternatively, please contact the office on 01884 849127

What time can I arrive at the property?

The check in time for Wayside is 4pm. Unfortunately It's not possible for you to arrive earlier than this as we'll be busy getting the house ready for your stay. If it looks like you might arrive in the area earlier than that, we’d suggest stopping off at one the pubs we’ve mentioned for lunch, or having a browse round one of the nearby towns.

How do I find the property?

You’ll find detailed directions provided in your ‘My Booking’ section on our website. We always recommend using these rather than Sat Nav as Sat Nav can sometimes take you past the turning for Wayside. Be sure to pass these instructions to all members of your group!

How do I access the property on the day of my stay?

You’ll be able to see all your check-in information about 21 days before the start date of your stay. To access this, log into the’ My Booking’ section of our website, using your booking reference number and your email address. You’ll find all the information you need there, including our contact details and instructions regarding the keys.

Can I have a food delivery to the property?

Yes, you can arrange to have a grocery delivery to the property for when you arrive or during your stay. It's important that delivery slots are made for after the arrival time of 4pm and that you are there to receive your order personally; remember that traffic isn’t always reliable and we’d hate you to miss your delivery. For that reason, we recommend that you make sure your name and contact number are on the delivery information. The following shops will deliver to this property: Asda, Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco, Dart Fresh and COOK Frozen Foods.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at the property?

Unfortunately not as there are no EV charging points at Wayside. Due to insurance restrictions guests will not be able to use outdoor plugs or cables from the house to charge vehicles. We recommend researching the local area to find the nearest charging points - please see Electric Vehicle Charging At Our Holiday Houses.

We are thinking of inviting people over during our stay. Is this allowed?

Due to insurance /health and safety policies you cannot invite guests to Wayside - this is clear in the Terms and Conditions that should be read when you book your stay. There is a maximum occupancy for each property and this cannot be exceeded, which is why we ask for details of each person who will be staying at Wayside, including their names and ages.

Are there any local pubs that we could stop at on the way to Wayside, or visit during our stay?

Yes, certainly! You’ll find suggestions for local pubs and restaurants on the About page for Wayside and on our Things To Do page.

What can we find supplied for us at Wayside?

There is enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for a dinner party. You'll find at least 2 toilet rolls per toilet. Salt and pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, washing-up-liquid, dishwasher tablets (at least 6), tea towels, dish cloth and scourer, sponge, oven gloves, kitchen roll, tin foil, cling film, bin bags, hand soap, Welcome Pack of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. 2 hairdryers provided.

Bed linen, cot mattress sheets, bath robes (all guests aged 12 years +), bath towels and hand towels are supplied. Note that we don’t supply extra towels for use in the swimming pool and hot tub, so you’ll need to bring these yourself. We also recommend bringing suitable footwear for going to and from the pool/hot tub – like flip-flops or crocs.

I would like to have a toddler bed or cot at the property do I need to bring my own?

We can provide one cot at Wayside but note that you will need to request this on your booking.

Are there stairgates available for use at the house?

Due to the contemporary design of the staircase at Wayside it is not possible to fix stairgates on to it. This has not been a problem to date - guests are fully aware of this so they keep doors closed as necessary. In any case, we advise that children should be supervised at all times.

Are dogs allowed at this property?

We are very sorry, but pets are not allowed at Wayside.

Are hen parties and stag parties allowed here?

We don’t say no, but we do point out that Blackdown Luxury Lettings’ properties are not party houses; if you’re planning a more relaxed or sophisticated hen weekend that’s fine, but just make sure that you read our Terms & Conditions before making your decision as to whether or not Wayside is suitable for you.  We can only accept hen parties.

Is there a BBQ at the property?

Yes, there’s a gas BBQ on the terrace at the back of the house. This is available from Easter until the end of October and gas is supplied. There is also a BBQ lodge with a charcoal grill; 1 bag of charcoal is provided, more can be purchased from the owners prior to your stay. All extra charcoal, kindling and logs must be pre-booked from the owners prior to your stay – please make sure this is done in advance as the owners do not live on site.

Is there CCTV at the property?

Security cameras operate on the outside areas of the property.

Is there WiFi at the property?

Yes, there is WiFi at Wayside. We always make guests aware that because the house is in a rural location, the speeds may not be as quick as you are used to. It might be an idea for you to download anything that you might need before your stay to avoid disappointment.

How big is the swimming pool at Wayside?

The pool is approximately 16ft x 32ft, with a constant depth of 4.6ft. There are steps in the corner of the pool to aid access.

How should I leave Wayside at the end of my stay? What do I need to do?

Basically, we ask that you leave as you find - for more information please see here.
