The Rockfish, Exeter, Devon
The Rockfish is Exeter’s biggest seafood restaurant, with a very appropriate waterside location on the Quayside – no wonder it’s such a popular place! Great location, amazing food with a focus on local, sustainable fish, and a good buzz. There’s an outdoor terrace for those warm summer days, and a wood burner inside for when it’s not so clement.
Food is the finest, locally caught seafood, grilled, fried or roasted within hours of being caught along the Devon and Dorset coast. It depends a lot on the seasons and the weather but usually there’s a choice of around 5 fish, served with chips and salad. For example: Chargrilled sea bream fillets with lime pickle butter (fillets of fresh sea bream chargrilled with a delicious butter made from salted limes, spices, lime juice & fresh coriander), North Atlantic Scallops fried in a crispy batter, Lyme Bay mussels (local mussels steamed with white wine, bay, garlic & parsley) and prime cod fillet.
There are also burgers – Beyond Meat for the vegans, Firecracker chicken burger and Skipper’s Roll (sea bream fillet).
