The Harbour Inn, Lyme Regis, Dorset

You’ll find The Harbour Inn tucked away in one of the older parts of Lyme Regis, between Marine Parade and the beach – in fact they have their own area of private sand here as well as a balcony overlooking the historic harbour and the sea.

It can be a busy place, especially in the summer months, but it still manages to feel relaxed and cosy – go in the winter after a stroll along the shore and it’s a delight to be here, likewise at Christmas when the decs are up and the fairy lights twinkling. The food is good, homecooked fare with a lot of fish featured on the menu, which is to be expected when you’re this close to the sea – it’s all freshly caught on the waters of the Jurassic Coast. So if that’s your kind of thing you can tuck into the likes of Bouillabaisse, Roasted fillet of Lyme Bay hake, and The Harbour Inn’s own Fish pie. If you’re not that fond of seafood there’s Slow Roasted Pork Belly, Devonshire rib eye steak and Vegetarian dish of the day.

Lunchtimes you can have something lighter from the starters, a sandwich or baguette, pub fare like Beef lasagne or Fish and Chips, or one of the fish dishes. Families are very welcome and there’s a menu for the younger folk.

Open: From 10.30am (lunch 12pm-2.30pm, dinner 6pm-9pm)
