The Drewe Arms, Broadhembury, Honiton, Devon

The Drewe Arms in the peaceful Devon village of Broadhembury is well worth pencilling in for lunch when you’re staying at one of our luxury large group holiday houses nearby. In many ways, it’s the perfect country pub; the building itself is medieval so is packed with character from the big old front door to the ancient beams and open fireplaces where on colder days, there will be logs blazing to keep you nice and toasty.

The food is excellent so don’t wear tight fitting clothes or you might need to loosen a button or two! If you just fancy a sandwich or something, there’s a good choice of Ciabattas, if you’re up for more, start with Cured meat antipasti, olives, chutney, pickles, bread & salad or Smoked haddock fishcake with tartar sauce and watercress salad. Move onto Steak & Ale puff pastry pie with fries & vegetables, or Otter beer battered hake and chunky chips; finish off with Pear & almond tart or the Drewe Arms chocolate brownie. Yum, yum.

If the sun is shining down on Broadhembury, take a nice cool pint of local ale out to the beer garden and sip it slowly whilst bees buzz and butterflies flit among the flowers. Just what holidays are all about.
