Get out on to the open waters of Lyme Bay with Lyme Rib Rides for a totally different way to see the sights of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast. This family run business operates a rigid inflatable boat called very appropriately, Sea Spirit with very experienced skippers who know this part of the country like the back of their hands. Trips last 30 minutes to 2 hours and can be fast and exhilarating or you can go at a more sedate pace. The leather bench seating has room for 12 and all the safety gear is on board, life jackets included, though it’s highly unlikely you’ll need them.
Lyme Rib Rides run from April to October and are weather dependent; there are certain safety regulations so we’d recommend a visit to their website before you book – and if this is something you fancy doing when you’re on your large group holiday in the West Country during the peak season, you’d be well advised to book rather than just rock up because Lyme Regis gets very busy in the summer.
