If you’re looking to spend time in the great outdoors while on your family holiday in Devon, go and explore Haldon Forest Park. There’s 3,500 acres of natural beauty here, all looked after by the Forestry Commission; take a leisurely stroll around on one of the gentle walking trails, do the Segways trail or for something a bit harder going lace up your boots for a big long hike. Horse lovers can choose from over 10 miles of riding trails or you can hire mountain bikes if you prefer a quicker pace.
With Exeter only 15 minutes away, you can stop for food on the way or bring a picnic and find a nice spot to sit in the park. If you’ve still got energy to spare and don’t mind heights, head over to Go Ape, located within Haldon Forest Park.
