Gloucester Road, Bristol, Somerset

Gloucester Road is one of Bristol’s more quirky shopping areas where the vibe is bohemian and upbeat. There are a few big name stores but by and large the shops are independently run and there’s quite a choice of bars, cafes and restaurants. What Gloucester Road is really big on is street art – it’s like a massive outdoor gallery with colourful graffiti everywhere; look carefully and you’ll see some of Banky’s original works. For burgers and beer go to Hobgoblin or The Gloucester Road Alehouse and Kitchen; if it’s just a cup of tea you’re after try Bakers & Co or Café Jackaloupe. Other than that you’ll find several places offering world food from Lebanese and Korean to Punjabi and American smokehouse style fare.
