Bridge Cottage Tearooms, Winsford, Exmoor, Somerset

Think of time off spent on Exmoor and a charming tea shop in a picturesque village is par for the course; well, that’s’ exactly what you’ll get at Bridge Cottage Tearooms in Winsford, set in a 200 year old cottage, nice and traditional with no pretentions and excellent home cooked food.

Go along for a cooked breakfast, for lunch or afternoon tea, or just to tuck into some of the homemade cake they serve here. What’s on offer are things like homemade soups, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, salads, and more substantial dishes if you’ve got a bigger appetite - home cooked ham with bubble and squeak or egg and chips, pie of the day, quiche of the day, and daily specials. There’s plenty of room inside but if the weather is behaving itself sit out in the garden where the low walls give an outlook over the village.

Bridge Cottage Tearooms usually opens for the season in May each year, from Friday to Sunday 11.30am-4.00pm and Friday evenings from 5.30pm-9.00pm. Booking is advised for evenings and for Sunday lunch. Bear in mind that like all these lovely little places on Exmoor, Winsford can get rather busy in the summer holidays.
