The Oddfellows, Exeter, Devon

What do you do if you work with local suppliers of the best produce around? Turn it into award winning food, that’s what, just like they do at The Oddfellows, an independently run British themed gastro pub just off Exeter’s busy high street. And what a friendly place this is, great for families, with all the warm, friendly feels as soon as you walk in, and lots of tasteful eclectic décor that combines the gorgeous original features with a lot of vintage and a touch of the more modern.

The food is very, very tasty with the likes of Sea trout with samphire, Venison Risotto, and Panko roasted lamb breast, but what they are really renowned for at The Oddfellows is the amazing Sunday roasts they serve – a choice of meats, or go vegan, all the trimmings including a big fat Yorkshire pudding and a lovely rich gravy. Upstairs there’s a cocktail lounge with a distinctly Speakeasy feel, outside there’s a courtyard and terrace for those sunnier days and balmy nights.
