Somerset County Cricket Club, Taunton, Somerset
Home to Somerset County Cricket Club is the Cooper Associates Ground in the heart of Taunton, a great setting with the backdrop of the town’s church spires and the rolling Blackdown Hills. They’re big on providing a fantastic experience for the community and visitors here, whether it’s for match days, the many events held throughout the year, or hospitality.
Check the website for matches and go along and be a part of the ambience; there are two big screens to help you keep up with the action on the pitch, plus state of the art floodlights. Tuck into a Match Day carvery or buy fish and chips and street food from one of the stalls on site; the Stragglers Coffee House on the ground floor of the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion serves breakfast, lunch and cakes and coffee from 8.00am to 4.00pm on Wednesdays. If there’s a group of you or you’re organising a corporate event you can book a room or the roof terrace for hospitality.
Official merchandise is available at the ground and there’s a Somerset Cricket Museum so allow extra time apart from the match itself. The ground has two car parks close by or there is a park and ride service running from just outside of the town; the train station is only a short walk away.
