Red Coat Guided Tours, Exeter, Devon
If you want to explore Exeter and find out about the city’s history, one of the best ways to do it is to join a free Red Coat Guided Tour.
Tours usually leave from the Cathedral Green, with the exception of the Historic Quayside Tour which starts at the Custom House Visitor Centre. Each tour is lead by a very knowledgeable volunteer and lasts about 90 minutes, taking in the sights and learning some fascinating facts along the way. To give you an idea, tours include Medieval Exeter, Cathedral Close & Bishop's Palace Garden, Churches, Cemeteries & The Catacomb and Exeter's City Wall.
Note that these are walking tours and there may well be steep or rough ground, slopes and steps; most are accessible by wheelchair but it’s always wise to check first.
