Odette’s Tea Rooms, Wellington, Somerset

Go for afternoon tea at Odette’s Tea Rooms in Wellington when you’re staying with Blackdown Luxury Lettings for your large group holiday in Devon – the food is good, the atmosphere is lovely, and it’s just such a pretty place.

The inspiration for Odette’s Tea Rooms comes from a local World War II heroine so you get that vintage charm, all mixed in to perfection with a Somerset rustic feel and a little French chic. If you go for lunch you might choose a cold meat, cheese or pate platter, or a French tartine, Baked Camembert or Smoked salmon and scrambled egg. There are also sandwiches and giant crumpets and baked potatoes if you fancy something lighter, and of course – cake.

But that afternoon tea thing. You must do it because it’s such a treat here, with temptations like a Chocoholics Cream tea and a Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea. Out the back of the tea rooms there’s a really pretty and secluded garden where they grow a lot of the salad veg and herbs they use in the food at Odette’s; if it’s a warm day sit out there and enjoy it all.
