This 5 star luxury hotel offers fine dining in the heart of Devon with stunning views over the Exe estuary. The Michelin starred restaurants serve exquisite modern British dishes courtesy of Michael Caines, MBE, each one perfectly matched by wines from a world cellar with over 600 bins.

There are three restaurants – Berry head, which has the best sea views, Mamhead, an elegant dining room for 2-12, and Powderham with hand painted walls and sumptuous velvet banquettes to provide an intimate dining ambience. The larder is the beautiful South West of England where a bounty of first rate produce is grown and raised in the pastures; among the mains to tempt you on the A La Carte menu are Dart Farm Ruby Red beef fillet, Creedy Carver Duck breast and Butter poached Brixham turbot. There are Signature Tasting Menus with Salted Newlyn cod, Pigeon pithivier and Terrine of Duck liver. The 4 course Sunday lunch menu features Darts Farm venison, on the 4 course lunch menu are Guinea fowl, truffle and pistachio terrine. Vegetarians and vegans are not left out and if afternoon tea is your thing you’re in for a treat – sandwiches, freshly baked scones with thick Devon cream and local preserves, and cakes and French patisseries made daily in the kitchen.
