Kingfisher Inn, Colyton, Devon
Now this is what you call a proper local pub, but that’s not to say visitors aren’t welcome because they certainly are. The family who run the Kingfisher Inn in Colyton are a friendly, smiley bunch which is a big part of why it feels so relaxing here. The beer is good, the food is good, and it’s all home cooked hearty fare with all your pub favourites; local produce features big of course, including fresh fish caught just a mile or so away on the Jurassic Coast.
If it’s Six Nations time, or any other big sporting event for that matter, you’ll find the TV on and the locals in to cheer on their favourite teams; if you want to make use of the skittle alley, dartboard or three boules piste, you’re most welcome. Go along, makes yourselves at home, it’s that kind of place.
