Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Combe Martin, Devon

You’ll find plenty to see and do at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park so earmark it for a day out when you’re on your large group holidays in Devon. Apart from the awesome animatronic dinosaurs the park is famous for, there are lots of animals to say hello to – lions, wolves, sea lions, monkeys, meerkats and penguins, as well the creepy crawlies who live at Critter Cavern. Time it right and you can catch one of the talks or animal encounters, or if some lucky little person has a birthday you might want to book up for an animal experience so that they can feed the lions, give the wolves their breakfast (no, Cornflakes aren’t on the menu) or swim with a sea lion.

The park covers 28 acres of botanical gardens and has a Dino Express Train, a dinosaur museum with a multitude of fossils and dinosaur footprints, and great for if the weather turns, the biggest indoor play area in North Devon. A visit to Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park will take up the best part of a day, if not more, so be organised and take a picnic – there are undercover areas if the sun takes his hat off or pops behind the clouds. Otherwise go to the café or grab something tasty from the deli, and last but not least, drop into the gift shop for a souvenir of your trip.

If you’ve got buggies or pushchairs bear in mind that some parts of the park are quite steep, but you can use the free baby carriers service, which might work better for you. A brilliant day out for the whole family.
