Colyton, Devon

Colyton is a peaceful town not far from the East Devon coast; it’s a nice little place to mooch about whether you come by car or bike, or along the marshes on the electric tram with Seaton Tramway. If you opt for the latter as your mode of transport the terminus is the Tramstop Café so you can stop there for lunch or a cream tea before you pop next door for a browse around The Vintage Shed.

Have a wander round the narrow streets, maybe visit the unusual church with its octagonal lantern tower and if you didn’t eat at the station, go to the Kingfisher Inn where the welcome is warm and the food, good honest homemade fare. Have a stroll in the fields down by the river whilst you’re here, appreciate the Devon countryside and the bounteous fresh air.

Nearby are Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama and The Donkey Sanctuary.
