Pecorama, Beer, Devon
Anyone with a thing for trains, no matter how old they are, will want to go to Pecorama in Beer when you’re staying at your large group holiday house in Devon. Pecorama is home to the Beer Heights Light Railway and has all things trainy to amuse and entice.
Have a ride on the miniature steam train and see glorious views of the sea as you ride through 8 acres of pretty landscaped gardens and countryside. See the Peco Model Railway Exhibition, it’s quite something and draws visitors from far flung places, so if you have your own model railway at home the chances are you’ll find both inspiration and something to add to it here. The youngsters will enjoy the play areas – indoors and outdoors so no worries if the weather’s not so good, and there’s a Zip Wire, Crazy Golf, a Garden Trail, Nature Trail, and a Crawlie Bug Hotel – in other words, it’s a good day out for families because there’s plenty to see and do. There food kiosks and if you fancy something rather posh, book a table in the Orion Pullman Carriage Café for afternoon tea – but you must all be over 12.
