What you’ll notice about Millgrove House is that it has a very welcoming and homely feel about it; it’s spacious, light and airy and very up together with everything you need to enjoy your large group holiday in Somerset. Because it’s nice and private you really do feel like you have a world of your own, somewhere to put your feet up and take your ease away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just what you need…

You’ll start to feel your worries slip away the minute you step inside the wide hallway; off to the left is the dining room where a big chunky oak table awaits you for happy holiday dinnertimes and big celebration feasts; what’s nice is that there are French doors that open out to the front of the house so you can let the fresh air drift in on warmer days.

Step down to the living room where you’ll find sofas to curl up on, a big TV, and fireplace made of local stone; just imagine coming back and lighting the fire after a walk in the fields on a chilly autumn day – gather round with a tray of hot buttered crumpets, mugs of hot chocolate – lovely! Off the sitting room is the conservatory which doubles up as a games room, with a pool table and air hockey, and soft seating for spectators.

Right of the hall is the kitchen, a very sociable space so whoever’s doing the cooking needn’t be left out of the fun; there’s a breakfast bar with stools so you can have a natter and a glass of wine whilst you’re chopping the veg – and if that sounds like too much bother, or if you have something you really ought to be celebrating in style, then hire one of our recommended professional caterers to come in and sort you out with a humdinger of a feast.

Off the kitchen are Bedrooms 5 and 6, both with zip and link beds that you can have arranged as superkings or twins. Beyond Bedroom 6 is a shower room and a utility room with laundry facilities and access to the front garden. A word of advice: if you don’t travel light make sure you bagsie Bedroom 5 because it has a huge built-in wardobe!

Upstairs are Bedrooms 1-4, all with zip and link beds, TVs, and calm neutral décor that goes a long way to helping you get a good night’s sleep. Bedroom 1 has an en suite shower room, and the other rooms have shared use of an ample bathroom that has a bath and separate shower.

The grounds are a very impressive feature of Millgrove House; the big terrace at the side of the house has plenty of outdoor furniture and loungers so it’s ideal for unhurried barbecues; take a dip in the pool whenever you want, even if it’s raining – it’s heated and covered so it really doesn’t matter what the weather’s doing. Have a soak in the hot tub, breathe in that fresh country air; find a shady spot beneath the trees for a picnic, watch the young ‘uns having a whale of a time on the swings and the slide, bouncing about on the trampoline. Everyone happy, smiles all round. You’ll probably wish you could stay longer.
